About the Instructor

Tim’s love of movement began with dance, and has since grown to encompass yoga, cycling, swimming, cross-country skiing, calisthenics, stand-up paddleboarding, and cross fitness. As someone who pushes his body to it’s edge, Tim has a deep appreciation for safe movement, mobility, breath, and recovery to allow our bodies to keep doing what they do best.

Tim is a graduate of Allie Chisholm-Smith’s 600hr Yoga Teacher Training (2019), a Qualified Aerial Yoga Instructor (2022 & 2024), and a Certified Animal Flow L1 Instructor (2023).

Additionally, Tim has immersed himself in Calisthenics and Handstands with his handstand mentors Dimitris Kostopoulos and Aggeliki Giannouli at Body Challenge Gym in Athens, Greece and has also attended specialized trainings with Yuvol on Hands, Strongnastics, Yogi Flight School, Vinnie Llorenand and Kazam Gymnastics.

Handstand Workshop Series

Play with gravity, ground deeply, and explore new dimensions of strength, balance, and confidence in a supportive practice environment.

In Tim’s workshops, you will:

  • Build basic comfort upside-down and learn various forms of handstand entries.
  • Learn and embody the proper gymnastic handstand form (letting go of banana-backs and counter-balancing legs).
  • Explore head stands and arm balances, building a well-rounded sense of balance and grounding.
  • Practice a variety of drills and progressions designed to train your alignment and challenge your form.
  • Practice calisthenics, mobility flows, and bodyweight exercises that will build your strength and mobility for handstand work.
  • Progress towards advanced hand-balancing forms & shapes, and apply your work to hs walks and hs push ups.
  • Receive 1:1 spotting, personalized feedback, and learn how to spot and practice with a partner.

What to Expect:

Each 90-minute workshop includes:

  • Strategic Warm-Up – Engage key muscles and prep for inversions.
  • Calisthenics Drills – Grounded flow work to boost strength, flexibility and control.
  • Inversion Drills – Headstands, crow transitions, forearm stands, bridge, and more.
  • Handstand Drills – Handstand drills and progressions for all levels – against the wall, free-standing, and partner-supported.
  • Cool-Down & Reset – Anchoring stretches to unwind and integrate your practice.

Workshops are friendly for both beginners and experienced hand-balancers, with progressions and skills to explore for all levels.

As a workshop series, this program is designed for progression: Each session will include some new and some repeated drills, so there is benefit to attending whenever you can:

Aerial Yoga Class

Float, stretch, and flow with Aerial Yoga! Using a silk anchored to the ceiling for support, this class blends yoga, strength, and playful movement to build flexibility, core stability, and confidence.

Beginner-friendly, with progressions for all levels.

📍 Tim hosts Aerial Yoga classes at Northern Edge Algonquin, in a spacious studio for up to 13 participants. Tim occasionally announces special days/times for this class, and also makes it available for private groups. Contact Tim for more info.

Animal Flow L1

Move with power, control, and fluidity in Animal Flow! This dynamic, grounded bodyweight practice blends elements of yoga, calisthenics, and martial arts to improve strength, mobility, and coordination—all while moving like an animal.
